Joan Adams, founder

"Morning Star Kutlwanong has officially opened on Monday 9th October 2006. Great thanks to Bill & Linda, Caroline Lloyd and the Bedford Seven whose fundraising efforts have ensured that the premises are properly equipped, electrically sound, totally secure and beautifully decorated." Joan Adams, founder

MISSION: To provide an inter-discipliinary daily programme of optimal care for HIV/AIDS children so that they experience the very best quality of life possible in a Christian environment.

PRIMARY GOAL:

To provide little children infected with HIV/AIDS the opportunity of reaching a measure of their full potential.

To deliver support to their families

To ensure the Organization's sustainability over the long-term

To promote and demonstrate Christian values

OUR DREAM:

To see increasing numbers of our teenagers turning to Christ, embracing Christian morality, reaching their dreams and sharing their faith and values with their own families one day.

The Kutlwanong Children's Centre...

The children and staff at the Kutlwanong Children's Centre - part of Morning Star's ongoing initiatives towards supporting the communities affected by HIV/AIDS in and around Welkom, Free State.

May 2017

Our Kutlwanong Satellite Centre continues to provide optimum care for the 40+ children who attend on a daily basis.

9 staff members are currently employed at this site, 8 of whom are women. The sole male, Vusi, is our Kutlwanong driver.

Our Kutlwanong Centre continues to function very well under the able management of Anna Matiyase who took over from her predecessor, Holygate Malunga after she died unexpectedly early in 2014.

There are 40 children at present, with 12 of them in Grade R with teacher, Zanele and the rest in pre-school and our Little Stars Toddler group

Our Kutlwanong Centre is like a haven in the desert and always a welcome sight to passers-by. Many a time children gaze through the bars of our fencing with longing eyes, wishing they could be part of the fun inside and have the opportunity to play on our wonderful outdoor equipment.
